Duo was designed in response to the increasingly nomadic nature of modern work. As more people move between desks, rooms, or even cities throughout their day, the need for functional tools that adapt with them has grown. This pencil case was conceived to solve a simple, everyday frustration: constantly having to repack and rearrange writing tools when shifting work environments.

The result is a hybrid object that combines two essential functions—portable pencil case and desktop stationery holder—into one.

Materiality plays an important role in Duo’s identity. The main body is made from metal for durability, while its base or insert can be crafted from warm wood or marble, offering both a tactile and visual contrast. These material combinations elevate the object beyond mere utility, making it a refined companion for any workspace.

Designed by Lotti Gostic Studio, Duo reflects the studio’s ongoing interest in functional, adaptable design for contemporary living. Every element is tested for usability, longevity, and aesthetic balance—resulting in objects that are as thoughtful as they are practical.
